Poppins Community Cafe

The nationally recognised POPPINS Community Cafés are coming to Banwell
Village Hall on 5 March 2008, offering help and support on a variety of
issues, from housing to education.

As well as information about how to get the most from local services, such
as those offered by North Somerset Council, Citizens' Advice Bureau, and Age
Concern, there will also be opportunities to talk to local police and
councillors, plus there will be refreshments and fun activities.

The community cafés have been taking place in various venues across North
Somerset over the last few months and were recently singled out for national
praise by the Government's Improvement and Development Agency for their
impact in helping "hard to reach" groups access local services.

Come to a Beat Surgery

Surgeries will be held from 9am to 10am in the Village Hall on the following
dates: 15 February 2008, 14 March 2008, 11 April 2008, 9 May 2008 and 27
June 2008. Do come along to air any local policing issues you may have.

Learn about Neighbourhood Watch

A Neighbourhood Watch Scheme meeting will be held on Monday 18 February 2008
at 7pm in the Village Hall at Banwell. It is for anyone wishing to find out
about the benefits of belonging to Neighbourhood Watch Schemes with a view
to forming more groups.

Opportunity for horse owners

A tackmarking session will be held on Sunday 24 February 2008 from 9am to
12noon at Pals in Locking and from 1pm to 4pm at Murphy's in Hewish. This
is an opportunity for tack marking, saddle chipping, free membership to
Horsewatch and obtaining good value security products and/or security
advice.
